Make a Difference as a School-Based Mental Health Licensed Therapist

Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is hiring a full-time Licensed Therapist to provide mental health counseling, outpatient therapy, crisis intervention, clinical assessment, and treatment planning to students in Hampton City Schools. We are seeking a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) who is passionate about supporting children and adolescents.

This school-based behavioral health position provides individual, group, and family therapy while working closely with students, families, school personnel, and community providers. The Licensed Therapist will manage a clinical caseload, develop individualized treatment plans, provide crisis intervention, coordinate behavioral health services, and connect students and families with appropriate community resources.

Require Qualifications:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP) with two (2) years clinical experience including therapeutic counseling, crisis intervention and case management functions.
  • Must be eligible or approved for MCO credentialing.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage an assigned clinical caseload and provide individual, group, and family therapy.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify students' behavioral health needs.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized, behaviorally specific treatment plans.
  • Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions based on each student's needs and treatment goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support students experiencing behavioral or mental health crises.
  • Collaborate with students, families, school personnel, community providers, and other professionals to coordinate care and support positive treatment outcomes.
  • Provide counseling, education, and support to students and families regarding mental health needs and available services.
  • Coordinate referrals and connect students and families with appropriate behavioral health and community resources.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive clinical documentation in accordance with agency, regulatory, and MCO requirements.
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to unlicensed therapists and/or graduate student interns, as appropriate.
  • Participate as an active member of a collaborative school-based behavioral health team.
