Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project, a program of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles, Inc., is a non-profit law firm which provides community education and legal representation to immigrant adults, families, unaccompanied minors, individuals with mental health issues, and in cases involving crimmigration. Esperanza has proudly provided legal services to immigrants and their families in Southern California for over 15 years. More information is available at www.esperanza-la.org. The Release Services Case Manager will assist the Representation Program for adults with mental illness. Under the supervision of the Managing Attorney for the Representation Program, the Release Services Case Manager will create post-release plans and implement linkage and individual rehabilitation services to clients who have been found to be mentally incompetent by an Immigration Judge. The Release Services Case Manager will work closely with program attorneys to create placement plans, advocate for services, link clients to community-based resources and ensure that placement goals are being met after release from detention. The Release Services Case Manager will also conduct outreach services to promote agency services.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews and evaluates applicants for services.
  • Formulates and implements treatment plans of actions and goals.
  • Assists applicants in applying for and obtaining social and other services. 
  • Prepares required reports in a timely manner.
  • Develops problem solving relationship with clients.
  • Assesses and identifies needs and abilities of clients. 
  • Works with other agencies to ensure clients receive all needed services; links clients to existing agencies and community resources, including advocacy. 
  • Conduct outreach services and promote agency services.
  • Records client-related information.
  • Displays sensitivity to the client population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Compiles monthly statistics of services provided.
  • Performs related duties as required.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field from an accredited or state approved college or university required.
  •  Spanish fluency required.
  • Passion for social justice for immigrants and vulnerable communities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  One year or more experience providing human services.
  •  Prior case management experience in a social setting.
  •  Experience in a non-profit organization is a plus.
