Job Description:

Rate of Pay: $66,000.00  to $72,000.00 annually; DOE

Job Description: Under administrative direction, uses clinical skills for professional consultation and preventive outreach. Works as a part of ASU Counseling Services team, with offices in University Housing environments.  Will serve as an immediate and ongoing postvention response for student or community incidents. Engages with University Housing to offer consultation, outreach, postvention, and training as part of a larger team of consultation and prevention specialists.

Essential Duties:

Currently hiring for the following shift: Monday – Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Some nights and weekends during high student engagement periods of the academic year.

  • Provides outreach, consultation, and postvention to the campus community, focusing on residential communities.

  • Serves as liaison with university departments, regularly engaging with University Housing, ASU Police, Dean of Students.

  • Provides consultation services to faculty, staff, and university departments. 

  • Provides training and supervision for student employees. 

  • Participates in university program evaluation and research. 

  • Engages in professional development activities to maintain licensure/certification. 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Evidence of LPC, LCSW, LMFT, PsyD or PhD independent licensure in Arizona.

  • Experience with preventative outreach, including consultation and presentations to groups.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of methods, techniques, and procedures of mental health counseling and related services.

  • Experience in crisis assessment, intervention and coordination of emergent care.

  • Experience in consultation and outreach.

  • Experience in working with diverse populations.

  • Evidence of effective communication.

  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.

  • Work collaboratively to achieve objectives

  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze data

  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing

Working Environment:

  • Work occurs onsite, with office space in University Housing environment, with possibility of traveling onsite to 4 ASU campuses in greater Phoenix area.

  • Frequent siting or standing for prolonged periods of time.

  • Work collaboratively across various departments within the University as well as with diverse populations and groups

  • Use computers effectively – including inputting, reviewing and retrieving information, extended periods of viewing screen and using mouse and keyboard

  • Use critical thinking to make decisions and/or analyze data

  • Attendance at meetings or events in various campus locations

  • Frequent lifting up to 35 lbs.

Educational Outreach and Student Services (EOSS) is committed to enrolling all qualified students at Arizona State University and assisting them in their academic success. EOSS provides a broad range of services and support to students and prospective students ranging from outreach efforts with K-12 schools, orientation programs for new freshman, bridge programs to assist the transition to a university environment, and a wide variety of services, programs and activities for enrolled students.
