About SkyCare Services

SkyCare Services is a Rock Hill based behavioral health and in-home care agency serving children, adolescents, adults, and families across York County and the surrounding area. Our outpatient mental health program operates from our main office on Ebenezer Road and receives referrals from the community, from Medicaid managed care partners, and from our school district partnership with Rock Hill Schools, including the alternative school and its overflow referrals.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPCI) who is ready to start building a caseload right away. You provide the clinical work. We provide the clients, the office, the electronic health record, the billing, the credentialing support, and your board-approved supervisor.

This is the role for a newly licensed intern who does not want to spend the next two years hunting for a supervisor, paying out of pocket for supervision hours, or waiting on referrals to trickle in.

Two Ways to Join Us

We know pre-licensed clinicians are in very different situations, so you pick the structure that fits yours. Both options include free on-site LPCS supervision.

Option 1: Contract, paid per session

  • $45 per completed billable session
  • 1099 independent contractor
  • Flexible scheduling built around your availability, including evenings
  • You tell us the days and times you can be in the office and we schedule the caseload to it
  • Good fit if you are finishing a degree, working elsewhere part time, or want to control your own hours
Option 2: Salaried, full time

  • $45,000 per year, W-2 employee
  • 10 paid vacation days per year
  • Choose your shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Steady pay whether your week is heavy or light
  • Good fit if you want predictable income and a set schedule while you complete your supervision hours
Tell us in your application which option you are interested in. If you are not sure, we will walk you through both on the phone screen.

What Makes This Different

Your supervision is free. SkyCare provides a board-approved Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPCS) on site at no cost to you. You are not paying for your hours and you are not coordinating with an outside supervisor. Your supervisor is in the same building, immediately accessible, and reviews and co-signs your documentation.

Your hours count. Individual and group supervision is scheduled at the intervals required by the South Carolina Board of Examiners, with supervision logs maintained so your hours are documented correctly for full licensure.

We handle the business side. Scheduling support, verification, authorizations, claims, and collections are managed by SkyCare. You are not chasing payers or building a practice from scratch.

The referrals are already here. Community, Medicaid, and school district sources keep the schedule full, including overflow from our Rock Hill Schools and alternative school partnership.

What You Will Do

  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling to children, adolescents, and adults
  • Complete clinical assessments, diagnostic impressions, and person-centered treatment plans
  • Deliver crisis intervention and safety planning as needed
  • Serve school-referred youth from our Rock Hill Schools and alternative school partnership
  • Complete all clinical documentation in the agency EHR within 48 hours of service delivery
  • Participate in scheduled clinical supervision with your assigned LPCS
  • Maintain documentation that supports medical necessity and meets Medicaid, HIPAA, and payer requirements
  • Participate in quality assurance and compliance activities
Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related field from an accredited program
  • Current, unrestricted South Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPCI) license in good standing, or license in hand before start date
  • Willingness to enter into a board-approved supervision agreement with SkyCare's LPCS
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) number, or willingness to obtain one before start date
  • Professional liability insurance of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence
  • Ability to work on site at our Ebenezer Road office. Medicaid requires your supervising clinician and you to be housed at the same practice location, so this role is not remote
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, SC Department of Social Services Child Abuse Registry check, and state and national sex offender registry checks
  • Strong, timely documentation habits and comfort working in an electronic health record
Preferred

  • Experience or coursework with children and adolescents
  • Familiarity with school based or community mental health settings
  • Experience with trauma informed care, CBT, or solution focused approaches
  • Bilingual English and Spanish
What We Provide Either Way

  • Free board-approved LPCS supervision, individual and group
  • CEU, training, and compliance support funded by the agency
  • Credentialing and CAQH support
  • Office space, EHR access, and administrative and billing support
  • Steady referral flow from community, Medicaid, and school district sources
  • Clear pathway to a full-time clinical position with SkyCare upon full LPC licensure
