Job Purpose 

The Project Director provides overall leadership, administration, and oversight for the Project AWARE initiative. The Project Director is responsible for implementation of all grant activities, supervision of project personnel, fiscal oversight, performance monitoring, strategic planning, partnership development, evaluation, and compliance with all SAMHSA requirements. The position ensures successful implementation of the three-tier school behavioral health framework while coordinating services among FCCBH, participating school districts, families, and community partners.

Qualifications 

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, education, public administration, or a related field.
  • Clinical licensure or provisional licensure preferred.
  • Experience leading school-based behavioral health or behavioral health programs; supervising multidisciplinary teams; managing federal or state grant-funded programs; and conducting program evaluation, strategic planning, and partnership development preferred.

Core Job Duties 

  • Supervise LEA Project Managers and monitor district implementation.
  • Coordinate Project AWARE Advisory Board meetings and activities.
  • Monitor implementation fidelity across the three-tier framework.
  • Oversee required SAMHSA SPARS performance reporting.
  • Manage the Project AWARE budget and monitor expenditures.
  • Coordinate grant activities and communication with SAMHSA.
  • Lead planning for sustainability of Project AWARE services.
  • Attend required SAMHSA meetings and technical assistance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and applicable agency standards.
  • Oversee program fiscal operations and review monthly financial reports.
  • Establish and monitor program outcomes to guide improvements.
  • Direct program resources toward achieving project outcomes.
  • Provide effective supervision and support to program staff.
  • Ensure program facilities are safe and conducive to treatment.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community partners.
  • Provide leadership for program development and advancement.
  • Support the organization’s vision in program planning and operations.
  • Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.

  • Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
