Position Summary

The Director of Social Services is responsible for ensuring that the social service needs of clients and their families are effectively met through high-quality program delivery and coordination. The role oversees all programs and services within the division, including social services, immigration services, and job readiness programs, and provides supervision and support to project coordinators to address complex issues and ensure service quality. In addition, the position is responsible for compiling and reporting monthly, quarterly, and annual program statistics, as well as maintaining and developing community partnerships and resources. The Director also supports grant writing, fundraising, and other efforts to secure resources in collaboration with the Director of Development.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise program staff and provide guidance to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Monitor program performance and implement strategies to improve effectiveness and efficiency
  • Prepare and maintain program reports, statistics, and required documentation
  • Collaborate with program, administrative, and leadership staff to ensure coordinated services
  • Participate in staff meetings and support volunteer engagement and program activities
  • Represent KCSC to community partners, government agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships within the community
  • Coordinate outreach activities, educational workshops, and community events
  • Conduct client intake and needs assessments
  • Provide case management, information, referral, and resource navigation services
  • Coordinate supportive services to address the needs of clients and their families
  • Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with program requirements


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public health, psychology, nonprofit management, or a related field; Master’s degree (MSW or related field) preferred.
  • Minimum three years of experience in program management, social services, public health, or nonprofit programs; experience with program development, implementation, evaluation, and contract compliance preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in grant, proposal, and budget development is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency (verbal and written) in English and Korean is required.
  • Knowledge of the Korean/Asian American immigrant community and cross-cultural service delivery is preferred.
  • Strong writing, verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, teams, community partners, and government agencies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and internet-based applications; experience with social services databases (e.g., NewOrg) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of immigration services, social services, public health programs, or community-based services is desirable.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel for meetings, outreach activities, and community events.
  • Ability to successfully complete required criminal background checks and other screening requirements related to serving vulnerable populations.
