What You'll Do

As a Career Counselor, you will provide personalized case management and career counseling that supports students from enrollment through program completion. You'll build trusted relationships, remove barriers to success, and help students develop the skills and confidence needed to achieve their educational and career goals.

Your responsibilities will include:


Provide individualized personal, educational, and career counseling to promote student success, employability, retention, and program completion.
Build strong mentoring relationships that encourage student growth, accountability, and confidence.
Develop, implement, and regularly update each student's Personal Career Development Plan, ensuring measurable progress toward career goals.
Monitor and assess student achievement in academics, career technical training, independent living, and overall program participation.
Identify barriers to student success and coordinate appropriate on-center and community resources to support student achievement.
Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential case documentation using the student case management system.
Ensure assigned caseload meets or exceeds Department of Labor (DOL) and company performance expectations while maintaining the highest standards of data integrity.
Transport students when necessary to support program participation and access to services.
Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
Model and reinforce Career Success Standards while promoting positive behavior, responsibility, and personal accountability.
Provide consistent supervision and proactive support to help students make positive decisions and remain engaged in the program.
Collaborate with academic, career technical training, wellness, residential, and other center staff to provide coordinated, student-centered services.
Effectively communicate with students, colleagues, leadership, and external partners while contributing ideas that strengthen programs and student outcomes.
Analyze student concerns, develop effective solutions, and follow through to ensure successful resolution.
Produce high-quality work that is accurate, organized, and completed within established timelines.
Maintain professional attendance, productivity, and accountability standards while continually developing the knowledge and skills needed for success.
Serve as Acting Counseling/CPP Manager in the absence of the Counseling/CPP Manager.
Protect the confidentiality of sensitive student information and uphold all integrity standards, ensuring accurate reporting and ethical case management.
Support center operations by assisting with additional duties and cross-functional assignments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree (including at least 15 semester hours in Social Services-related instruction) from an accredited school required.
A minimum of one-year experience in counseling or related field.
Prefer previous Job Corps or related program experience.
Must possess a valid in-State Drivers License and meet Company insurability requirements.
