Position Summary

Empowered for Excellence Behavioral Health is a nonprofit agency that offers specialized counseling in the field of substance abuse, mental health, and behavioral treatment services. The Community Outreach Liaison serves as the primary representative of the behavioral health center within the community. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with referral sources, healthcare providers, schools, courts, community agencies, employers, and other stakeholders to increase awareness of the organization's mental health and substance use disorder services. The Outreach Liaison promotes the organization's mission, generates referrals, coordinates community events, and serves as a resource for individuals seeking behavioral health services. This role commonly combines relationship-building, education, and referral development responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with physicians, hospitals, primary care providers, schools, courts, probation departments, social service agencies, and other community partners.
  • Promote the organization's behavioral health, substance use disorder, and co-occurring treatment services throughout the community.
  • Identify and cultivate new referral sources to increase admissions and program growth.
  • Conduct presentations, educational workshops, and outreach activities to increase community awareness of available services.
  • Represent the organization at health fairs, networking events, conferences, and community meetings.
  • Coordinate facility tours for referral partners and prospective clients.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from referral sources and assist with facilitating referrals.
  • Collaborate with the Admissions, Clinical, and Leadership teams to ensure a seamless referral process.
  • Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, referral contacts, and community engagement efforts.
  • Develop monthly outreach plans and submit activity and referral reports.
  • Assist with marketing initiatives, promotional materials, and community campaigns.
  • Stay informed about behavioral health trends, community resources, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, CARF, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Public Health, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in behavioral health, healthcare marketing, community outreach, or business development preferred.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel within the service area.
