Clinical Supervisor
Position Summary
The Clinical Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership and oversight of the clinical department, ensuring quality client care, proper staffing, timely documentation, and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. This role supervises clinical staff while maintaining a small clinical caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support therapists, counselors, intake staff, care coordinators, and group facilitators.
- Manage clinical schedules, caseloads, group coverage, and daily workflow.
- Oversee intakes, treatment planning, documentation, discharge planning, and level-of-care transitions.
- Provide guidance for crisis intervention, relapse response, AMA prevention, and complex client situations.
- Conduct chart reviews and ensure documentation meets clinical, payer, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director, Program Director, Operations, Medical, Admissions, and Utilization Review teams.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of clinical staff.
- Participate in quality improvement, compliance, audits, and accreditation preparation.
- Maintain a small caseload and provide direct clinical services as needed.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.
- Appropriate clinical licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Behavioral health and/or substance use treatment experience.
- Supervisory or clinical leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical documentation, treatment planning, crisis intervention, HIPAA, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Experience with electronic health records; Kipu experience preferred.
Reporting
Reports To: Clinical Director
Works closely with the Program Director, Operations Manager, Medical Team, Utilization Review, Admissions, and facility leadership.
