The Children's Access Clinician full-time position engages children, adolescents, and families with urgent or emergent needs through clinical assessments and therapeutic interventions. This involves individual, group, and family therapy using various modalities across multiple settings such as office, home, and school settings, alongside extensive collaboration with other agencies and internal supports serving children, youth, and their caregivers.
This position impacts the community by providing immediate follow-up to crisis, urgent, or emergent needs, supporting clients through trauma-informed care, and helping children, youth, and families achieve their highest potential and best possible quality of life while actively encouraging client self-determination and recovery.
Summary of Duties
Provide intake assessment, therapeutic services, and case coordination to children, youth, and their caregivers with direct supervision for a caseload of 15-30+ clients identified through the intake assessment process.
Provide immediate follow-up to crisis, urgent, or emergent needs for children, adolescents, and families.
Utilize mental health assessments to determine recommended treatment and referrals to appropriate providers.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy interventions in the community or office-based settings.
Provide clinical case management in collaboration with WCMHS programs and other Washington County agencies, including schools, DCF, and health care providers.
Develop and implement plans of care and treatment plan goals for a moderately complex or acute caseload under supervision.
Complete and submit medical record updates and billing paperwork within required timelines.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary range for this position is approximately $63,300 to $66,500 annualized.

Qualifications: Summary of Qualifications and Skills
Master's Degree in a related field such as psychology, social work, or counseling with active clinical licensure or rostering and pursuit of licensure.
One to three years of experience working with children, youth, and caregivers experiencing mental health challenges.
Experience coordinating between multiple services, programs, or agencies, or equivalent skills to manage communication and organization for clients navigating a system of care.
Thorough understanding of trauma-informed care practices and a commitment to WCMHS mission and vision.
Strong clinical interviewing and assessment skills, both oral and written, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to interact well with parents, school staff, WCMHS staff, and other professionals while working both independently and collaboratively.
Valid driver's license, excellent driving record, access to a safe, reliable, and insured personal vehicle to drive to agency locations and client homes, and the ability to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Workplace Conditions
The position operates across multiple settings, including office, home, and school environments, requiring the clinician to drive their own personal vehicle to and from a variety of agency locations and client homes, and at times provide client and caregiver transportation. Work involves managing complex problems and crisis situations with children, youth, and families that may require a multi-person approach, independent collaboration with external agencies like schools and hospitals, and meeting requirements for documentation and billing within set timelines.
