About the Position
YWCA South Hampton Roads is seeking a Youth Services Manager to lead a growing portfolio of programs designed to support the safety, well-being, educational engagement, leadership, empowerment, and healthy development of children and youth.
Under the supervision of the Director of Impact & Strategic Innovation, the Youth Services Manager oversees the day-to-day operation of Youth Services, including shelter-based programs and initiatives such as, but not limited to, shelter-based youth services, TechGYRLS, AMEND Together, and other youth-focused initiatives. This position supervises Youth Services staff and is responsible for program development and implementation, staff development, partnerships, performance, data and outcomes, and continuous improvement across the Youth Services portfolio.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Manage the Youth Services portfolio, including shelter-based programs and initiatives such as, but not limited to, Youth Services, TechGYRLS, AMEND Together, and other assigned programs. Ensure effective program development and implementation that align with organizational priorities, established program models, funding requirements, and the evolving needs of the community.
- Supervise and develop Youth Services staff, including Youth Services Specialists, through regular supervision, coaching, performance feedback, professional development, scheduling, and clear expectations for service delivery and accountability.
- Lead program development, implementation, and operations, including annual and program-specific plans, calendars, participant engagement, staffing, facilitators, volunteers, supplies, activities, and other logistics necessary for successful delivery.
- Ensure high-quality youth programming across academic engagement, STEM exposure, leadership development, healthy relationships, violence prevention, social-emotional learning, life skills, enrichment, and positive youth development.
- Build and maintain community partnerships with youth-serving organizations, educational institutions, behavioral health providers, community agencies, volunteers, facilitators, and other partners that expand opportunities and resources for youth.
- Manage program accountability and outcomes by monitoring participation, engagement, retention, service delivery, program completion, and other performance measures and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Support program growth and sustainability by monitoring program and grant deliverables, contributing to reports and funder updates, evaluating program effectiveness, and working with the Director of Impact & Strategic Innovation to identify opportunities for improvement, expansion, partnerships, and future funding.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Psychology, Youth Development, Nonprofit Management, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of relevant education and professional experience may be considered.
- Minimum of three years of experience working with children, youth, and families in nonprofit, community-based, shelter, educational, or human service settings.
- Demonstrated experience developing, coordinating, implementing, or managing youth programs or initiatives.
- Previous supervisory, team leadership, or staff development experience strongly preferred.
- Experience managing multiple programs, projects, or initiatives and balancing competing priorities.
- Experience with grant-funded programs, program outcomes, data collection, reporting, or performance management preferred.
- Knowledge of positive youth development, trauma-informed care, and strengths-based practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, facilitation, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build effective relationships with youth, families, staff, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders.
- Ability to successfully complete required background checks and YWCA training requirements.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Monday through Friday, 9:00a-5:00pm. Some evening and weekend hours required. Willingness to work and travel alone. Travel is required and access to reliable transportation is essential.

- Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as but not limited to, a personal computer, calculator, copier and fax machine
COMPENSATION: This position offers a hiring range of $48,000-$52,000 that is based on experience and a full benefits packet to include health, vision, and dental insurance, 17 paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement and other benefits.
