What You’ll Do:

The Youth Outreach Navigator conducts street-based outreach to engage runaway and homeless youth (ages 12–24) across Charlotte. This position builds trusting relationships over time, assesses immediate safety and basic needs, and connects youth to shelter, crisis services, and longer-term supports. The Youth Outreach Navigator works to reduce risks for youth, promote their health and well-being, and link them to the resources they need.

Using a trauma-informed and youth-centered approach, the Youth Outreach Navigator provides consistent, low-barrier engagement and serves as a key link between runaway and homeless youth and the broader system of care. This role focuses on building trust, raising awareness, and providing guidance to youth both on the streets and through collaborations with schools, community centers, and other service providers. Outreach activities occur on foot and by vehicle in targeted areas across The Relatives’ service region.

The role requires the ability to safely operate agency vehicles to provide transportation for youth as needed.
