Youth Day Treatment Therapist

Location: Cape Girardeau, MO

Full Time: Exempt

Work Schedule: 

Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm, Must bel flexible to meet client needs. 

Pay Range:

• Provisionally Licensed (LMSW or PLPC): $50,620 minimum annually and additional depending on experience
• Fully Licensed (LCSW or LPC): $53,120 minimum annually and additional depending on experience

Qualifications:

Note: "For those obtaining, PLPC, confirmation of successful passing of your NCE is acceptable until supervision has been identified. 

• Master's Degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related human services field.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in children/family mental health services
• License preferred. 

The Program:

The Youth Day Treatment program provides services to youth in grades k-5th who require a step -down or an alternative to impatient care of partial hospitalization, or as transitional care following an impatient or partial hospitalization stay in order to facilitate return to the community or to prevent or minimize the need for more intense or restrictive level of treatment. The Day Treatment program provides services that are more intensive than outpatient treatment and will serve persons who need a structured, behavioral health setting for daytime activities. 

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing evaluation and treatment of children and families. They will facilitate therapeutic activities based on the child's treatment plan and be a member of the child's Treatment Team.

Job Duties:

1. Conduct individual, group, and family therapy with assigned clients.
2. Work with an integrated treatment team, including case managers and the psychiatrist to provide consistent care.
3. Work alongside school staff to meet the needs of the students/clients.
4. Maintain records according to clinical policies and procedures in a timely fashion.
5. Assist with psychological evaluations.
6. Communicate with parents/guardians with the needs, behaviors, etc of the child.
7. Intervene in behavioral health crisis situations, when needed, which may include use of seclusion and/or restrain interventions to prevent self-harm or harm to others.
8. Document according to clinical policies and procedures, DMH, CARF, and any other federal or state program per agency standards.
9. Based on need, provide seclusion and/or restraint interventions in accordance with Pro-Act guidelines and agency policy and procedure.
10. Provide therapy services for other day treatment programs as required by agency need.
11. Maintain certification in Pro-ACT and CPR/First Aid.
12. Due to the nature of the Youth Day Treatment (YDT) program, staff are responsible for the supervision of students during all program hours while services are provided on school premises. YDT staff are expected to adhere to the school's operational schedule when the school is in session.
    • When the school is in session, YDT staff will follow the school's daily schedule.
    • If Community Counseling Center (CCC) has a delayed start or is closed on a day when the school is in session, the school schedule will apply for YDT staff.
    • If the school is delayed or closed, YDT staff will follow the CCC agency schedule.
    • YDT staff are required to follow all school-specific emergency, safety, and operational protocols while on school grounds, including but not limited to lockdowns, drills, evacuations, and other emergency procedures.
