What You'll Do

The Youth Counselor provides supervision, mentoring, guidance, and support to adolescent males living in a residential treatment program. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you'll help create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment that promotes growth and success.

Your responsibilities may include:

Resident Care & Supervision

  • Provide daily supervision, mentoring, and guidance to residents.

  • Build trusting and supportive relationships through effective communication and positive role modeling.

  • Maintain the safety and security of residents and the facility.

Behavioral & Therapeutic Support

  • Supervise residents during school, recreation, community outings, and daily activities.

  • Collaborate with clinical staff and case managers to develop behavioral goals.

  • Encourage positive decision-making and independent living skills.

Documentation & Team Collaboration

  • Maintain accurate Electronic Health Records (EHR) and behavioral documentation.

  • Record resident progress toward treatment goals.

  • Participate in training and follow structured program policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in a human services-related field; or

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) with at least two years of experience working with youth.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • Valid driver's license required.

  • Must successfully complete criminal background (including FBI) and child abuse clearances.

  • Basic computer skills required.
