Title: Youth Coordinator

Reports To: Youth Empowerment Specialist/VP of Community Relations

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Status: Full-time

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Position Summary

The Youth Empowerment Coordinator supports CHOICE of NY youth programs through outreach, case management support, resource coordination, event planning, and program administration. The coordinator assists in engaging youth and families, connecting participants to supportive services, and supporting the implementation of youth-focused initiatives.

The coordinator provides dedicated support to the Youth Empowerment Specialist for the Legacy Leaders Mentorship Initiative by assisting with program logistics, participant engagement, and activity coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Legacy Leaders Mentorship Support

  • Support the Youth Empowerment Specialist with the coordination of the Legacy Leaders Mentorship Initiative.
  • Assist with mentoring session preparation, participant communication, scheduling, attendance tracking, and program logistics.
  • Support recruitment activities and engagement efforts.
  • Prepare materials and resources for mentoring activities and workshops.

Youth Support, Outreach & Case Management Coordination

  • Provide outreach and case management support, as needed, to New Rochelle High School students and their families.
  • Assist youth and families with accessing community resources, referrals, and supportive services.
  • Support participant follow-up, documentation, attendance tracking, and service coordination.
  • Connecting families to resources including academic support, workforce development, behavioral health services, mentoring opportunities, and other community supports.
  • Build relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community partners to strengthen engagement and access to services.

Event Planning & Program Administration

  • Assist with planning and coordinating youth workshops, leadership activities, family engagement events, and community events.
  • Support event logistics, participant communication, materials preparation, and program coordination.
  • Assist with data collection, reporting, and maintaining program records.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned to support CHOICE of NY youth programming.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Education, Sociology, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with youth, families, schools, or community-based programs.
  • Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting youth mentoring, outreach, case management, or community programs.
  • Experience with event coordination and resource navigation.
  • Familiarity with youth development practices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Work Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 9am – 5 pm, 35 hours per week, however flexibility required to address client and Agency needs.

Physical Environment: 

  • Traditional office environment.
  • Must be comfortable attending appointments at various agencies, facilities, and clients’ homes.

Compensation range: $36,500 - $40,000
