What You'll Do

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities (OOD) is seeking a Work Incentives Consultant to join our Policy and Partnerships team. In this role you will help individuals learn about public benefits and the work incentives available to support their employment goals.

Through planning sessions and written reports, you will translate complex information in a clear and approachable way, always ensuring that Social Security and other public program beneficiaries receive accurate, complete, and timely guidance. This position also focuses on detailed and individualized benefits analysis. In addition, you will participate in ongoing follow-up with Social Security beneficiaries, collaborate with statewide partners and technical experts, and serve as a liaison to staff to support consistent policy interpretation and improved service delivery. The role involves handling sensitive information and statewide travel for meetings, training, and conferences.

To be successful in this role, you should be skilled in reviewing technical information, communicating effectively with customers, and applying problem-solving skills. The position also requires the ability to manage and prioritize work, develop complex reports and plans, make calculations, use sound research methods, manage sensitive inquiries, and deliver presentations using various platforms.

As part of OOD’s mission to empower Ohioans with disabilities through employment and independence, this role plays an impactful part in helping individuals make informed decisions about work, benefits, and long-term stability.

Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities does not provide sponsorship for employment-based visas or work authorization.
