Vice President of Early Childhood and School-Age Services

Best Point Education & Behavioral Health is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Early Childhood and School-Age Services to provide department-wide leadership across a diverse portfolio of programs supporting children and families throughout Greater Cincinnati.

This executive leadership role oversees early childhood education, home visiting, school-age programming, and prevention services, with responsibility for program strategy, financial performance, regulatory compliance, quality improvement, partnerships, and staff development.

What You'll Do

Strategic & Program Leadership

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across the Early Childhood and School-Age Services department.
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of early childhood, home visiting, early education, and after-school programs.
  • Research and implement evidence-based and best-practice models across programs.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures that promote consistency, quality, and program fidelity.
  • Monitor emerging needs among children, families, funders, government partners, referral sources, and community stakeholders and translate those needs into program improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for program expansion, innovation, partnerships, and long-term sustainability.
  • Provide interim leadership and operational support to programs when needed.

Executive Leadership & Community Partnerships

  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop new programs, strategic initiatives, pilot projects, and opportunities for growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, funders, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for Best Point through community events, committees, task forces, conferences, trainings, and speaking engagements.
  • Promote exceptional customer service and collaboration both within the organization and throughout the community.

Fiscal & Financial Leadership

  • Oversee the development and management of annual budgets across the department.
  • Monitor financial performance, revenue projections, expenditures, and program margins.
  • Develop forecasts and course-correction plans when programs are not meeting financial expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve efficiency, and strengthen program sustainability.
  • Identify and pursue additional funding opportunities to support program growth and innovation.
  • Lead or support grant and proposal development and oversee grant management for awarded funding.

Leadership & Staff Development

  • Directly supervise program managers and supervisors while providing leadership and accountability across the department.
  • Build and maintain a high-performing, collaborative leadership culture aligned with Best Point's mission and strategic priorities.
  • Develop leaders through regular supervision, coaching, feedback, and professional development.
  • Ensure supervisors are effectively managing their teams and maintaining strong program operations.
  • Allocate staff and organizational resources effectively to balance workload and achieve departmental goals.
  • Communicate organizational priorities, expectations, and changes clearly and consistently.
  • Partner with executive leadership on organizational strategy and emerging opportunities.

Quality, Compliance & Performance

  • Establish and monitor key performance measures for programs, processes, and staff.
  • Use data to evaluate program effectiveness, operational efficiency, and service outcomes.
  • Develop accountability systems that ensure programs consistently meet expectations of funders, partners, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure programs comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to accreditation, licensing, contractual, and quality standards.
  • Develop assessment processes to evaluate program feasibility, sustainability, effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead continuous quality improvement efforts and implement changes that strengthen service delivery and organizational performance.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Early Childhood, Education, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of leadership experience in a nonprofit organization, preferably overseeing multiple programs, contracts, or service areas.
  • Experience working with programs serving children, families, youth, or communities experiencing barriers to access is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with program planning, organizational leadership, budgeting, and administrative operations.
  • Experience with grant development, fundraising, or identifying additional funding opportunities.
  • Strong understanding of program quality, regulatory compliance, and performance management.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, find common ground, develop consensus, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong community awareness and ability to represent an organization professionally in external settings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and standard Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary: $90,000 - $100,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
