We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Therapist to provide high-quality, trauma-informed therapeutic services to individuals and families experiencing emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will utilize evidence-based interventions, deliver culturally responsive and person-centered care, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatric providers, to support recovery and overall wellness. This role is integral to a comprehensive outpatient behavioral health program that offers therapy and medication management services. The Mental Health Therapist will play a key role in assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and the delivery of recovery-oriented, strengths-based care that promotes resilience, healing, and long-term well-being.
Salary posted for fully licensed applicants. Please note: MHC-LP, LMSW, or Limited Permit salary base rate is $59,789.34
Position may be eligible to a sign on bonus
Key Responsibilities           
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy utilizing evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, and other therapeutic modalities.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, culturally responsive, recovery-oriented, and person-centered care.
  • Collaborate with psychiatric providers and other members of the treatment team to support integrated care and positive client outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with billing, regulatory, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Monitor client progress and update treatment goals and interventions as clinically indicated.
  •  Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and de-escalation support as needed.
  • Educate clients and their families on mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, respect, and client empowerment.
  • Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all professional and ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field 
  • Licensure preferred: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC (higher salary range for fully licensed candidates) 
  • Strong knowledge of mental health diagnoses and therapeutic interventions 
  • Experience with evidence-based practices (CBT, DBT, EMDR, etc.) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively 
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation 
  • Familiarity with OMH programs and Medicaid billing strongly preferred 
  • Valid NYS Driver License
  • Reliable vehicle
