Broadstep Behavioral Health is seeking a compassionate, licensed Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at our Kingstree Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). This is an opportunity to provide meaningful, trauma-informed treatment to children and adolescents with significant behavioral health needs while working alongside an experienced team of psychiatrists, nurses, behavioral staff, educators, and clinical leaders.

What You’ll Do

As a Licensed Therapist, you’ll serve as a primary clinician for youth receiving residential psychiatric treatment by:

  • Conducting comprehensive clinical assessments
  • Developing and updating individualized treatment plans
  • Providing individual, group, and family therapy
  • Serving as the primary clinical contact for parents and guardians throughout treatment
  • Collaborating with psychiatrists, nursing, education, case management, and direct care staff to coordinate care
  • Participating in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings
  • Supporting crisis intervention and behavioral stabilization efforts
  • Coordinating discharge planning and continuity of care
  • Completing timely, accurate clinical documentation in the electronic health record
  • Ensuring compliance with Medicaid, South Carolina regulations, and organizational standards

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
  • Active South Carolina professional license such as:
    • LPC
    • LMSW
    • LISW
    • LMFT
    • Or equivalent clinical license eligible to practice in a PRTF
  • Experience providing therapy to children, adolescents, or individuals with behavioral health needs
  • Strong assessment, treatment planning, and documentation skills
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in residential treatment, inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric, or child and adolescent settings
  • Experience with crisis intervention and complex behavioral health presentations
  • Familiarity with Medicaid documentation requirements and electronic health records

Work Environment

This position is based within our 24-hour Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility serving children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral health needs. Therapists work closely with an interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing safe, structured, and therapeutic care.

Some flexibility may be required for occasional evenings, family sessions, court appearances, treatment team meetings, or participation in an on-call rotation.

  • Valid driver’s license if transportation responsibilities are assigned
