WAGE RANGE: Therapist I: $60,000 - $67,000/annually or Therapist II: $68,000 - $76,000/annually


JOB SUMMARY: Catholic Charities Twin Cities is seeking a compassionate and experienced Therapist I or II to join our clinical team and provide high-quality mental health services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. 


The Therapist serves as the clinician and/or case manager for the clients on their caseload for their assigned unit or program. They provide the direct clinical work for their cases (individual, group and family therapy). In addition, they are responsible for developing, communicating, coordinating, and directing the treatment process for each youth on their caseload within the program. The Therapist works in collaboration with the Program Director and Clinical Supervisor to develop and direct the milieu therapy component of the program. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Therapist I:

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments, create treatment plans and provide appropriate clinical interventions (individuals, groups, and families) for children, adolescents, couples, families, or adult clients as assigned.
  • May provide behavioral management training, support, and consultation to professional staff (school personnel, direct care staff, and collateral community providers) and coordinate joint efforts to address needs or problems of the clients being served.
  • Meet with supervisor for case consultation and other service-related needs as required by policy and law. 
  • Participate in staff meetings, peer case consultations, in-services, case record reviews and CQI process as required. 
  • May serve on various agency or division committees pertinent to program planning, service collaborations or social justice issues. 
  • Maintain accurate records including case notes, insurance paperwork and current productivity standard of clinical direct service times.
  • Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for purposes of accountability and client outcomes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 If assigned to an admissions role:

  • Perform admissions duties if assigned to an admissions therapist position. Admissions duties include referral and screening process including assessment, collection of relevant information, tours, consultations, and communication with referral sources. Provide sound clinical judgment on suitability of referrals for each program.
  • Responsible for all intake functions including scheduling, coordination with billing department, education staff, program and unit managers and placing entities.
  • Responsible for setting up client files (paper and electronic) through the referral and intake process.
  • Manage clinical responsibilities for treatment programs as needed and assigned (conduct diagnostic assessments, write treatment plans, conduct therapy groups, other clinical interventions including managing a caseload).
  • Responsible for presentation to placement committee and teams regarding client needs.

Therapist II: (In addition to above)

  • Under the direction of the program leadership, provide clinical supervision to appropriate interns, volunteers, and staff.
  • May sign off on Therapist I paperwork as needed.
  • In the event of a clinical emergency, per state requirements, Therapist II will provide emergency (on call) consultations, in the absence of the program leader.
  • May provide some training and mentoring to Therapist I staff as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Therapist I:

  • Current Mental Health Practitioner Licensure/equivalent approved by the State of Minnesota (e.g. LGSW, LAMFT, LPC, etc.). 
  • Master’s Degree or above in Social Services related field required. 
  • Has experience and training in working with specific client groups. 
  • Has experience in providing clinical services in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional disorders. 
  • Minimum of one year of broad-based clinical experience and group facilitation with culturally diverse, under-resourced clientele with complex needs and histories.
  • Ability to work with diverse and/or low-income populations, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness required. 

 

Therapist II: (In addition to above)

  • Current independent Mental Health Professional Licensure approved by the State of Minnesota (e.g. LICSW, LP, LMFT, LPCC, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain necessary credentialing from appropriate insurance providers.
