Job DetailsJob Location: Rock Hill, SC 29730Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $43,696.00 - $74,907.00 Salary/yearPosition Summary — The Therapist position will provide high quality, trauma informed care by displaying skills in assessment, psychodiagnosis, treatment planning, and coping strategies. The Therapist will provide group as well as individual therapy. The Therapist will work with participants in our:


drug court program 
substance and alcohol misuse program for those in our victims’ services program and Tribal Opioid Response Program, 
Victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or related trauma, 
Members of our Boys & Girls Club program, and 
ICWA (Indian Child Welfare Act) Program. 


This position supports the CIN Mission by being a leader in the high-quality services we offer our tribal citizens by: promoting collective and individual self-sufficiency of the Catawba people, enhancing the safety and well-being of our tribal community, and; providing services in a culturally relevant and holistic manner.  

Major duties will include performing intakes with participants, managing resources and schedules to help participants receive necessary services, holding regular meetings with program participants, and planning and organizational skills. This position will be responsible for grant administration including data collection and oversight. 

This is a shared, multidisciplinary position jointly overseen by the Chief Health Officer and the Victim Services Manager, requiring close collaboration with public health, public safety, victim and social services, courts, and community partners.

 

 

Essential Functions


Provide short-term individual crisis counseling and long-term therapeutic counseling in the fields of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, alcohol and drug abuse, and trauma.
Provide advocacy, networking, and referrals to other programs.
Develop and lead group therapy sessions for those in the victim’s program as well as the drug treatment programs. 
Work as part of the Healing to Wellness Court team.
Counsel clients in individual sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making life changes.
Develop client treatment plans based on research, clinical experience, and client histories.
Review and evaluate clients' progress in relation to measurable goals described in treatment and care plans.
Ability to be calm, approachable, and friendly in order to make clients feel safe, welcome, and relaxed.
Complete and maintain accurate records and reports regarding the patients' histories and progress, services provided, and other required information.
Attend local and tribal meetings to build understanding and support for the programs. 
Create methods of reporting to complete necessary grant reports while maintaining client confidentiality. 
Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and any necessary training at the work location or other specified locations.
Provide testimony related to clients in court proceedings.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Participates in multidisciplinary staffing for treatment consultation and recommendations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

QualificationsQualifications  

Experience:


1-2 years of experience working as a counselor.
Experience working with adults with substance and/or alcohol abuse problems.
Experience working with youth
Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
Grant writing and grant management experience preferred.


 

Education: Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, or Psychology

Licenses & Certifications: Licensed professional counselor (LPC) or Licensed Independent Social Worker- Clinical Practice (LISW-CP); Possess a clean, valid state Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance policy.

Ability to work evenings or weekends as required and be on-call for crisis situations;
Sensitivity to battered women, sexual assault, and stalking victims’ issues and maturity required.
