Job DetailsJob Location: THQ-Program Services - Atlanta, GA 30329Job Category: Grant & Funding ComplianceThis position is responsible for:

Coordinating and tracking the review, analysis, and processing of all grants and contracts in the department serving as a central resource regarding the status of all pending grants and contracts; ensures compliance with funding requirements of local/state/federal government, quasi-government entities, and private organizations providing funding for social services programs throughout the Southern Territory; safeguards The Salvation Army's position as a religious organization as well as a nonprofit corporation; serves as technical resource person and provides advice to the Territorial Social Services Secretary, Divisional Headquarters and the field on matters involving government programs, funding, and contracts.  Supervises assigned staff in performing grants and contract work. 

Key Responsibilities:


Serves as the primary point of contact for Territorial Headquarters Departments as well as Divisional stakeholders regarding the processing of grants, contracts, and related documents according to the procedures for processing program and social service contracts and agreements in conjunction with the delegation of authority.
Interprets statutes, regulations, and contract terms as a part of the standard contract review process; advises Salvation Army contracting locations of compliance issues and potential contract management problems.

Confers with the Assistant Territorial Social Services Director concerning various operational matters, including any difficulty in processing or expediting contracts through the various departments of Territorial Headquarters, special needs of the units, review of the unit’s workload, and coordination with other Salvation Army units at the territorial, divisional, and local levels



Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Work is performed in a normal office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Pre-Law, Social Work, Contract Management, or a related field is required and a master’s in social work or paralegal degree is preferred AND 
Five years of progressively responsible experience in contract management, administration, and/or service delivery is required, and paralegal experience is preferred. OR 
Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.


 

Certifications:

Valid Georgia Driver’s License

Willing to work systematically to become a Certified Grant Specialist & Reviewer and Certified Senior Grant Specialist.
