NASW's Office of Ethics and Professional Review (OEPR) is seeking a sharp, self-motivated researcher to help compile, code, and analyze confidential data using platforms such as Access. You'll be a key contributor to a longitudinal project capturing 60 years of NASW professional review history.  This is an excellent opportunity to trace how ethical concerns in social work have evolved over decades and to help shape resources that strengthen ethical decision-making going forward.

NASW is the world's largest membership organization of professional social workers, working to advance ethical practice and professional standards across the field. OEPR provides ethics resources to NASW members and the profession at large in support of that mission.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Research professional review case reports, case files, and newsletter articles
  • Input, code, and analyze data to help tell the story of NASW professional review matters over six decades
  • Support collection of qualitative and descriptive data
  • Collaborate with the OEPR team to draft a comprehensive 60-year retrospective on NASW Professional Review

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Demonstrated research skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and current data analysis software
  • Strong research, statistics, writing, and analytical skills
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to analyze complex ethics issues
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience or strong interest in social work a plus

This position is located in our Washington, DC office (by Union Station). This position also requires being in the office 1 day a week. This is a temporary role for Summer 2026 (2-3 months).

You will be eligible to enroll in the Association's' 401(k) plan, with pre and post tax options available.
