As the Student Support Clinician, you will work with college students (adults) seeking support services at Mercer County College who may have symptoms of mental health and/or substance use disorders.

Oaks Integrated Care has partnered with Mercer County College to offer their students supportive and compassionate brief counseling services as well as provides psychoeducation workshops to students and professors. These can include topics such as wellness, coping skills and mindfulness. Services can also assist students to develop tools to manage challenges at school, home, work, and in the community. Mercer County College Connects offers these supportive services through screening, assessment, community linkage to physical and behavioral health treatment.

Schedule: Full-time; 40 hours; Monday- Friday

Pay: $55,000

Competencies: 

Ability to provide Person Centered, Family-Centered, and Trauma-Informed Care; Understanding and commitment to supporting recovery and resiliency; Ability to assess and interpret information related to population; Knowledge of the symptoms of the disability/disorder and ability to recognize exacerbation of symptoms; General understanding of treatment needs; Knowledge of available treatment resources and appropriate use; Population-specific communication skills; Understanding of Care Coordination; General knowledge of housing subsidies and management of the subsidies.

Responsibilities: 

  • Promote consumer-driven services and recovery-oriented environment;
  • Assist individuals and their family in making decisions, taking action, and treatment planning.
  • Provides education and information to individual and family
  • Provide screening, assessment, linkage and brief counseling to individuals seeking services
  • Interfaces with the internal and external providers to coordinate linkage and warm-handoffs to services
  • Provides in-person and telephone follow-up with all individuals to ensure adequate linkage and stabilization with services
  • Documents all interactions with individual, maintains accurate and up-to date information in the individual's electronic health record both for documentation and billing purposes
  • Aides with on-campus marketing and program development
  • Coordinates with partners at Mercer County College
  • Attends in-person supervision and team meetings both off-site and on-site
  • Develops recovery plan and supports the individual
  • Responsible for maintaining expected level of service and productivity as defined by program management
  • Performs other related duties as required

Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree (MA, MS, MSW) in a recognized mental health discipline;
  • LSW/LCSW,LAC/LPC, LAMFT/LMFT;
  • Clinical experience working with the population;
  • CADC/LCADC preferred;
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing required.
