Job Description: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Flourishing, the Student Assistance & Accountability Coordinator supports student well-being, success, and retention by coordinating intervention and support services for students experiencing academic, personal, social, behavioral, or mental health challenges. Working collaboratively with campus partners and multidisciplinary support teams, the Coordinator facilitates case management, assists with behavioral intervention, student conduct and accountability processes, and conducts resource referrals. Through assessment, advocacy, and coordinated care, the role promotes student safety, wellness, and holistic development while ensuring students receive timely and appropriate support.

Responsibilities:

CARE Team Coordination:

  • Assist in coordinating the institution's cross collaborative team of professionals who support and aid students in academic, social, personal, and mental health distress (i.e., AU CARE Team).
  • Assist with implementing Behavioral Intervention Team practices and processes.
  • Review, assess, and respond to student concerns referred by faculty, staff, students, and community members.
  • Maintain case management records, documentation, referrals, and follow-up communications.
  • Prepare reports, data summaries, and assessment information related to CARE Team trends, conduct activity, and student support initiatives.
  • Coordinate outreach and support plans for students experiencing personal, emotional, behavioral, or academic concerns.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and external providers to connect students with appropriate resources and services.
  • Monitor students of concern and assist in developing intervention and support strategies.

Student Conduct & Accountability Support:

  • Assist with administering the student conduct and accountability process in alignment with institutional policies and procedures.
  • Conduct preliminary meetings, assist with investigations, documentation review, and case preparation.
  • Support educational and restorative approaches to student accountability and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records related to conduct cases and outcomes.
  • Educate students on institutional expectations, community standards, and student rights and responsibilities.
  • Assist with sanction monitoring and follow-up communication.

Student Outreach & Case Management:

  • Conduct proactive outreach to students identified through early alert systems, referrals, or crisis response.
  • Provide individualized support, advocacy, and referrals to campus and community resources.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and follow-up with students to support persistence and retention.
  • Maintain records and tracking of emergency assistance requests and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with financial aid, counseling, housing, and community agencies to support students in crisis.
  • Ensure equitable, timely, and compassionate support for students experiencing hardship.

Administrative & Collaborative Responsibilities:

  • Maintain confidential and accurate student records in compliance with FERPA and institutional guidelines.
  • Develop and facilitate educational programming related to accountability, community standards, and support resources.
  • Participate in divisional committees; complete required training(s) and professional development opportunities.
  • Support strategic initiatives of the division and the University's strategic plan (Arcadia2030).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Student Flourishing, Care & Accountability.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • At least three (3) years experience working in higher education in student affairs, counseling, conduct, case management, or related areas.
  • Knowledge of student development theory, crisis intervention, behavioral intervention practices, and student support services.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, student advocacy, and holistic student support.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse campus stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience serving on or supporting a CARE Team or Behavioral Intervention Team.
  • Experience with student conduct administration and or restorative practices.
  • Knowledge of FERPA, Title IX, threat assessment, and higher education compliance practices.
  • Experience with case management software (i.e., Maxient) and student information systems.
  • Crisis response or behavioral intervention training.
