About the Team
 The Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Alaska Behavioral Health provides confidential, high-quality behavioral healthcare services and local resource connection to post-9/11 veterans, including National Guard and Reserves, their families, active-duty service members, and the families of active-duty service members. This includes spouses or partners, children, parents, siblings, caregivers, and others.

The Case Manager will work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support coordinated, client-centered care. This position helps clients identify needs, reduce barriers to care, and connect with community, military-connected, VA, nonprofit, and social service resources throughout the state of Alaska. The Case Manager will work closely with clinicians, group therapy providers, the Fairbanks Case Manager, and Lead Case Manager to support timely and culturally responsive care.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide case management support to clients and families enrolled in services at the clinic.
  • Review client resource needs and assist with resource recommendations, warm hand-offs, and community connections.
  • Respond to case management requests from clinic staff on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with case management team to support timely follow-up and coordination of case management needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and administrative tracking of client care.
  • Support clinic groups through recruitment, advertising, and occasional psychoeducation group facilitation.
  • Participate in monthly staff meetings, case management meetings, and required training.
  • Provide limited community outreach as needed.

Good To Know

  • Position is based in Anchorage, Alaska.
  • Part-time, Exempt position.
  • Schedule: 20 hours per week.
  • Salary range to be determined based on experience and organizational compensation structure.
  • Position reports to the Lead Case Manager/Clinician.
  • The Case Manager will complete and maintain required trainings through the Relias training system.
  • This role requires comfort using an electronic health record, Microsoft Office applications, and online training platforms.

What We Need from You

  • You have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in social work, sociology, psychology, or related field is required, master’s degree is preferred.
  • You have experience in case management, care coordination, social services, behavioral health, or related work.
  • You have strong communication, organization, documentation, and follow-through skills.
  • You are comfortable working collaboratively with clinicians, case management staff, and clinic leadership.
  • You have experience working with military populations and/or veterans, or a strong interest in serving this community.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Microsoft applications; background with Electronic Health Records (EHRs) a plus. 
  • You are committed to trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based care.
