Program and Role Summary

Wayfinder’s Sonoma Psycho Social Assessment program assesses resource families, including adoptive families, by completing resource family evaluations within county timeframes.

The primary focus on the Social Worker I, is to conduct resource family assessments for relative and non-relative families; and write the assessment in the county contract’s allotted time. Psychosocial Assessment (PSA) Social Workers may also assist with finalizing the adoption for these families.

The hourly wage range for this role is $32.00 - $33.00.

This position offers a $1/hour bilingual differential and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for candidates who meet bilingual requirements.

 

Primary Responsibilities:


Assesses county-referred applicants to become an approved Resource Family.
Conducts a home environment assessment, and psychosocial assessment, and prepare a written report. Incorporate an assessment of an applicant’s mental health and substance abuse into the risk assessment.
Provides ongoing assessments of family needs and makes appropriate referrals to services such as counseling, support groups, and other applicable services and coordinates with county workers and/or other community agencies to identify assistance funding services.
Maintains accurate and thorough records of all services provided and document all assessments, meetings, decisions, and reports.
Communicates needs, services, and progress with the referring agency, service provider, and applicants.
Provides therapeutic interventions on an ongoing basis and during crises.

QualificationsEducation and Experience:


Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in social work or social welfare, marriage, family and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology, or social psychology is required.
Bilingual (Spanish), required.
Valid CA Driver License with a minimum of three (3) years good driving history and must be approved by the agency’s insurance carrier to drive agency vehicles.
