Description

Greater Norwalk Head Start / Early Head Start a program of the Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc. seeks full-time Social Services and ERSEA Professional. Position is responsible for assuring that programs meet 100% of the related Federal Performance Standards, including services to families and children, working closely with Management team and Teaching staff, and Parent Education as a whole or on a case-by-case basis. This position includes supervising Family Advocates and participant enrollment. This position is chiefly responsible for the following core functions of the Head Start program and performs other tasks as needed:


Summary:

(1) Social Services Manager: This position has responsibility for fulfillment of the following Head Start Performance Standards: Family Partnerships; Community Partnerships, and Parent Involvement; Program Planning and the related Federal Monitoring Protocols. Directly supervises the Family Services Team (3–4-person team).


(2) ERSEA Manager: This position is responsible for fulfillment of the following Head Start Performance Standard: Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, and Attendance (ERSEA)


This position is chiefly responsible for the following functions and performs other tasks as needed:


· Family Partnership Building (10%)

· Communication and Service Coordination (5%)

· Record Keeping and Recording (10%)

· Ongoing Monitoring (5%)

· Human Resources (5%)

· Program Governance and Leadership (5%)

· Caseload, Transitions and Full Year Program (15%)

· Parent Involvement (10%)

· Community Partnerships (10%)

· Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment and Attendance (25%)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field (required)
  • 2-5 years of relevant employment experience.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory (strongly preferred).
  • Experience with social services and/or education in mental health services.
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
  • Ability to complete physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen requirements
  • Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds, 20 times a day if needed
  • Driver’s license required
  • Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation
  • Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid
