SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTION: |
Provides senior-level support and day-to-day leadership within the Outreach and Admissions Program. The Senior/Lead Admissions Counselor performs the core functions of an Admissions Counselor while assisting the OA Manager with staff guidance, workload coordination, quality review, performance monitoring, training, and achievement of contractual outreach and admissions goals. Serves as a lead resource to Admissions Counselors and assists in ensuring compliance with PRH requirements, established procedures, and departmental performance standards. |
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: |
- Assist the OA Manager with the day-to-day coordination and oversight of Admissions Counselors, including work assignments, recruitment activities, staff coverage, follow-up expectations, and progress toward departmental goals.
- Provide leadership, coaching, training, and ongoing support to Admissions Counselors, including assisting with the onboarding and development of new team members.
- Monitor staff productivity and performance, identify areas requiring improvement, and communicate concerns and recommendations to the OA Manager.
- Review admissions files, eligibility documentation, case notes, and related records to ensure accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with PRH requirements.
- Support achievement of OA contractual goals and individual performance measures and assist the OA Manager with developing and monitoring corrective action plans for measures below established expectations.
- Attend and actively participate in OMS meetings, monitor OAOMS performance, and support center committees, functions, and activities as assigned.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of Area Marketing Plans and coordinate targeted recruitment and outreach efforts with One-Stop Centers, community partners, and other center departments.
- Access, verify, and document applicant eligibility in accordance with PRH guidelines while ensuring compliance with applicable ROCA, COCA, OIG, and other established review standards.
- Ensure applicants receive accurate information regarding the Center and Job Corps program prior to arrival and provide mentoring and follow-up support to assigned student employees to promote retention and successful program participation.
- Serve as a primary resource and point of contact for Admissions Counselors regarding admissions processes, applicant concerns, recruitment activities, and documentation requirements, including when the OA Manager is unavailable as delegated.
- Perform the full range of Admissions Counselor responsibilities and other related duties as necessary to support departmental operations and contractual goals.

· Strong working knowledge of outreach, recruitment, admissions techniques, and Job Corps methodologies.
· Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to coach, train, guide, and support staff.
· Strong knowledge of PRH requirements, admissions processes, eligibility documentation, and applicable compliance standards.
· Excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to establish priorities, coordinate workloads, and meet established deadlines.
· Meticulous documentation and recordkeeping skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment, admissions, and performance data and identify areas for improvement.
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and other applicable computer systems.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: |
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
|
EXPERIENCE: |
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in admissions, outreach, recruitment, sales, marketing, counseling-related services, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated lead, supervisory, training, or team-coordination experience preferred.
- Previous Job Corps Outreach and Admissions experience strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience monitoring performance goals, reviewing documentation for compliance, coaching staff, and supporting departmental operations.

- Must possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
