Job DetailsJob Location: Main Campus - Milledgeville, GA 31061Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: 2 Year DegreeJob Category: Admin - ClericalGeorgia Military College – Main Campus announces the immediate opening for a fulltime Cadet Recruiter (CR), reporting directly to the GMC Deputy Commandant (DC) of Cadets.  The CR is the primary individual responsible for the execution of the Corps of Cadets’ recruiting strategy to include communication and outreach to advertise/inform all Corps of Cadet prospective cadets, parents, and Corps stakeholders on all cadet programs and procedures to be admitted to GMC and the Corps of Cadets.  Successful performance helps assure the effective administration of the department, ensures the success of the Enrollment Plan, and creates a positive image for the school. The CR is responsible for recruitment and facilitates the admissions process for all incoming cadets while working closely with other internal/external entities that recruit and qualify all Corps cadet types.  This is a professional level position serving in both a recruiting capacity on/off campus, as well as serving as administrative support for the Office of Admissions. CR hours are generally from 8:00am-5:00pm Monday thru Friday, but must be prepared to work weekends as required (with prior coordination).  Assist the Commandant’s Office in other tasks as assigned by the Commandant of Cadets.   

 

Duties include but are not limited to:


Develop recruiting strategy, in coordination w/DCR, to recruit and administratively qualify all cadet types for each of the GMC academic terms to include ensuring all cadets meet all financial obligations.  Identify and qualify those cadets that may require additional scholarship support to attend GMC.
Manage and track Corps of Cadets’ statistical data to prepare periodic briefings to GMC leaders on cadet breakdown by type and projected fill requirements for future terms.
Primary lead to develop relationship with Georgia Army and Air Force National Guard recruiting team to recruit and qualify GANG Soldiers to participate in GMC’s State Service Scholarship program to include managing and reporting the status of all administrative requirements associated with this program (internal/external). 
Work with other members of the GMC recruiting team to synchronize efforts to attract high quality individuals to be part of the Corps of Cadets.  This includes working with members of the GMC staff to ensure cadets administrative data is up to date and accurate (Transcripts/FAFSA/GTEG).
Develop pathways to connect with all prospective/current cadets, parents, HS/college administrators, SAIs, NG personnel, via all social media platforms to market the GMC Corps of Cadets.
Primary point of contact for all cadets in the areas of admissions, enrollment management, financial management, and administrative questions/procedures to get cadets qualified to attend/ remain at GMC.
Develop a communications strategy to keep prospective cadets updated during the admissions process and identify innovative approaches to recruit cadets ICW the DCR.   
Subject matter expert on cadet programs, associated costs, scholarship opportunities, federal/state/institutional policies and regulations associated with the GMC cadet programs.
Coordinate, schedule and participate in recruiting events at high schools, job fairs, congressional service academy fairs, GANG, events, etc., to tell the GMC cadet story and admit cadets to GMC.
Work closely with DCR to conduct multiple Open Houses throughout the year at the GMC Main-Campus.  Open Houses should include National Guard Recruiters, Service Academy Representatives, JROTC Instructors, HS Counselors/administrators to recruit all cadet types. 
The Cadet Recruiter will have supervisory responsibility for potential part time student Cadet Recruiter who may assist with our recruiting efforts.
Work with GMC Marketing Director to ensure all GMC informational brochures for the Corps of Cadet Programs are up to date and available to prospective cadets. 
Be able to travel, as attendance at recruiting events will be required.

QualificationsRequired:

 


Wear Army military uniform(s) or Service equivalent as required for key events as directed by the Commandant of Cadets. 
Completed at least one enlistment and received an honorable discharge upon completion of enlistment or currently serving on active duty or as a member of the National Guard or Reserves.
Associates Degree
Proficient in the use of information technology and business systems, including Microsoft Office and thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
Excellent skills in both oral and written communication.
Customer service oriented and excellent work ethic is a daily requirement.
Able to participate in Physical Fitness and other non-recruiting events as needed to support all cadet events and cadre requirement. 
Knowledge of Federal, State, SACS, and college rules and regulations.
Expected to accomplish all tasks with minimal guidance and/or supervision.  All work must be accomplished on time and within budget constraints. 


Preferred: 


At least 10-years of experience in the military with significant leadership positions such as Section Sergeant, Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant or higher positions within the military.
Respective Service recruiter experience would be a plus.
Excellent knowledge of all facets of computer operations, PC Recruiter, and DATATEL system.
Bachelor’s or Graduate degree.
