At Linwood School, we're looking for a compassionate and dedicated School Social Worker to join our interdisciplinary team. In this role, you'll provide counseling, crisis intervention, and advocacy for students with autism and related disabilities while partnering with families and staff to help students succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

What You’ll Do

As a School Social Worker, you'll play an essential role in supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral success by:


Providing individual and group counseling services based on students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Conducting social work assessments and developing goals to support student growth
Participating as an active member of the IEP team while collaborating with educators, therapists, and related service providers
Supporting students during crisis situations through assessment, intervention, and post-crisis planning
Building strong partnerships with families by providing guidance, resources, and ongoing communication
Coordinating with hospitals, community agencies, local school systems, and outside providers to ensure continuity of care
Assisting families with accessing school and community resources that support student success
Supporting student admissions and onboarding by participating on the intake committee and reviewing referral information
Developing school-wide initiatives that promote students' social-emotional development
Providing professional development and consultation to school staff on best practices in social-emotional learning and behavioral supports
Assisting with required documentation, Medicaid requirements, and student service records


Training & Support


We provide CPR certification
We provide Professional Crisis Management (PCM) training
Ongoing support and guidance from supervisors

QualificationsWhat You Bring


Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) required
At least two years of social work experience, preferably in a school, nonprofit, or special education setting
Experience providing counseling and crisis intervention services
Knowledge of special education processes, IEPs, and student support services preferred.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
A passion for supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities
