Qualifications:   

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage & Family Therapy (or the equivalent) from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, or psychology.
  • Experience working with children with serious emotional disturbances, trauma, and abuse/neglect issues - preferred.
  • Registered Intern with the State of Florida OR eligible to obtain Registered Intern status within 90 days of position appointment, OR License with the State of Florida (LMFT, LMHC, or LCSW).
  • Valid Florida driver’s license, ability to drive and provide proof of automobile insurance for vehicle being used for work, dependable transportation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of children and families with psychological, behavioral and/or psychosocial issues.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team and to be flexible.
  • Understanding of the stages of child/adolescent growth and development.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and awareness of the socio-cultural characteristics of clients served.
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally within Palm Beach County; work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings and possibly weekends, and to work in a school and home-based environment.
  • Some knowledge of community resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Computer knowledge and competency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ORGANIZATION CULTURE: Promote the mission, values and vision of Community Partners of South Florida.
  • TEAM PLAYER: Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • SUPPORTING CLIENTS: Provide individual, family, and/or group therapy to children and families in adherence with the treatment plan.
  • OUTREACH: Act as a liaison and appropriate representative for the agency with outside social service agencies, schools, and other organizations.
  • BILLABLES: Provide a minimum of 25 billable client services per week OR as outlined in training plan during onboarding period.
  • DOCUMENTATION: Utilize collaborative documentation during therapy sessions and assessments with children, adolescents, and families.

Compensation:

$30/hr for Registered Intern and $40/hr for Licensed
