A Brief Overview
The Program Education Coordinator supports enterprise implementation of the Safety & Wellbeing strategy by designing, coordinating, and delivering education for clinical and non-clinical team members. The role translates program priorities into practical learning experiences, supports change adoption across departments, and provides focused behavioral health consultation for high-risk situations.

Essential Functions

  • Education Design & Delivery
    • Designs and delivers standardized education aligned with Safety & Wellbeing priorities (violence prevention, behavioral escalation, trauma informed care, crisis response, caregiver engagement).
    • Develops clear curricula, learning pathways, and competency materials using adult learning principles.
    • Creates facilitator guides, simulations, case based learning, digital resources, and job aids.
    • Ensures content reflects evidence based practice, organizational policy, regulatory requirements, and clinical standards.
  • Training Coordination & Implementation
    • Coordinates enterprise training logistics, including scheduling, enrollment, instructors, materials, technology, and communications.
    • Supports instructor development, train the trainer activities, and competency validation.
    • Partners with leaders to adapt training for departmental needs while maintaining program fidelity.
    • Integrates training into onboarding, annual competencies, and role specific development.
  • High Risk Behavioral Health Clinical Support
    • Provides structured clinical support for high risk behavioral health needs within professional scope and licensure.
    • Facilitates Behavior Support Huddles and Collaborative Care Planning.
    • Consults on behavioral escalation prevention, trauma informed de escalation, and least restrictive interventions.
    • Communicates emerging clinical and education needs to program leadership.
  • Change Management & Operational Support
    • Assesses readiness, learning needs, and workflow impacts for new Safety & Wellbeing initiatives.
    • Develops education and communication strategies that support awareness, skill development, and sustained practice.
    • Supports pilot testing, workflow refinement, and enterprise rollout of new practices.
    • Provides coaching and follow up education to address implementation barriers.
  • Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
    • Establishes learning objectives, competency measures, and evaluation methods.
    • Monitors participant knowledge, confidence, skill acquisition, and application to practice.
    • Uses learner feedback, operational data, and safety trends to refine education content and delivery.
    • Maintains training records, reports, and program documentation.

 

Education Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in social work, counseling, psychology, education, nursing, public health, healthcare administration, or related field required

 

Experience Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, specifically behavioral health, and working with patients, caregivers, and team members Required and
  • Experience designing, coordinating, and delivering education in healthcare or behavioral health settings Preferred and
  • Experience in behavioral crisis response, trauma informed care, caregiver engagement, workplace violence prevention, or change management Preferred and
  • Experience with adult learning principles, instructional design, facilitation, and competency development Preferred and
  • Experience facilitating interdisciplinary teams or complex care planning discussions Preferred

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, simulation, and competency assessment
  • Ability to translate program strategy and clinical standards into practical education
  • Knowledge of trauma informed care, behavioral escalation, de-escalation, and caregiver engagement
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, support change, and collaborate across clinical and non-clinical teams

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Nebraska Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (LMHP)/Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) within 60 Days Preferred or
  • Nebraska Licensed Psychologist (LP) within 60 Days Preferred or
  • Nebraska Registered Nurse (RN) within 60 Days Preferred
