POSITION: SAFEPLAN Advocate 

PROGRAM: SAFEPLAN 

HOURS: 35 hours per week 

SALARY: $28.10/hr  

LOCATION: Brockton

DUTIES: Under the direct supervision of the SAFEPLAN Manager, SAFEPLAN Advocate responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide legal advocacy to victims of domestic and sexual violence;
  • Assist victims with safety planning 
  • Explain legal process and assist victims in obtaining restraining and harassment orders;
  • Participate in clinical supervision 
  • Provide supportive referrals to access resources and services.
  • Maintain up-to-date client files and statistical data.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling or Human Services required or equivalent experience. Trauma informed care experience preferred. Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of sexual violence and relationship violence. Experience with crisis intervention regarding issues such as homelessness, mental health, substance abuse. Knowledge and experience or willingness to learn MA State service systems including but not limited to; Department of Housing and Community Development, Department of Transitional Assistance and the Department of Children and Families preferred. Self-starter with a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. Applicants who are bilingual are encouraged to apply.
