SAFE PASSAGE PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Description

•   Facilitate and oversee day-to-day operations of the safe passage programs and services. 
• Ensure program safety by implementing and enforcing all CPS, School Site, and Safe Passages policies. 
• Immediately communicate all safety concerns and issues to Safe Passages, the Principal, and CPS staff. This should include the SGA HR Department and your Supervisor. 
• Recruit, recommend for hire, and train community watchers.  
• Ongoing supervision and coaching for staff as needed. 
• Observe, document, and evaluate program staff on an ongoing basis. 
• Ensure adults treat students respectfully. 
• Daily site visits to each Safe Passage post; AM and PM shift 
• Facilitate site-based monthly meetings for program staff and providers. 
• Enforce systems for student and staff documentation, including staff sign in/out logs. 
• Design and maintain efficient, organized office systems. 
• Manage reporting requirements, including monthly attendance, service deliverables quarterly reports, data collection, and survey administration. 
• Submit appropriate requests for expenditures. 
• Manage budget line items and track expenditures. 
• Build strong relationships with Site Administration Coordinator and other school site support staff to support students. 
• Participate in Principal meetings with Safe Passages supervisor. 
• Serve as a resource to families, students, staff, and community members. 
• Develop and maintain relationships with program partners and funders. 
• Collaborate with personnel from relevant agencies/schools/churches/communities. 
• Performs other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:

• Familiarity with youth development theory and best practices.  
• At least two years of program coordination, preferably on an urban school site. 
• Program management experience. 
• Database experience; data analysis; using data to inform programming. 
• Ability to develop strong relationships and work collaboratively with diverse individuals and organizations. 
• Clear and effective communication skills. 
• Effective time management and organizational skills. 
• Community organizing experience is a plus. 
• Ability to represent Safe Passages professionally and effectively. 
• Displays sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences present in SGA’s service population 

Experience/Education Required/Sought:

• Bachelor’s degree in human relations, social work, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.   
• Two years' experience in a social work program.
