A Full-Time Residential Program Director is needed in Providence, RI to oversee an innovative residential program for children and young adults with autism and related developmental disabilities.


Schedule: Hybrid role: Combination of office‑based work and on‑site presence at residential homes

Salary: Starting at $85,000 (based on experience and licensure)


The Residential Director provides strategic, clinical, and operational leadership for residential programs serving adolescents and young adults ages 12–21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), and other neurodivergent profiles. This role oversees program quality, staff performance, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of evidence‑based, trauma‑informed, and person‑centered supports, including Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).


The ideal candidate is a licensed clinician or human services professional with strong leadership skills, deep experience in residential services, and a commitment to dignified, ethical care for neurodivergent individuals.

Education, Experience and Special Skills Needed:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in related field required
  • Active state license in a relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling, behavior analysis, or related human services discipline) required 
    • BCBA/LBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals ages 12–21 with ASD, IDD, behavior disorders and neurodivergent populations 
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience with ABA and behavior support in residential or intensive settings
  • Proven leadership experience in residential, clinical, or human services programs
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills with leadership, staff and state agencies
  • Develop and supervise residential policies and procedures, including compliance to regulations, human rights, human resources, health and safety, client enrollment, curriculum and client programs, record-keeping systems, budgets, building and grounds, transportation and program monitoring
  • Supervise daily operations of residences, program status, and employees
  • Experience overseeing multi‑site residential programs preferred
  • Strong knowledge of trauma‑informed care and positive behavior supports preferred
  • Experience working in systems with high regulatory oversight preferred
  • Safety care training required (we will train)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required (we will train if needed)
