Responsibilities:

  • Develops workable staff schedules in coordination with other services and ensures that treatment plans are communicated through various shifts.
  • Provides input regarding the consumers' care and supervision by participating in the development of treatment plans.
  • Assists with coverage on all shifts when needed or directed; procures relief staff as necessary and ensures that safety procedures and consumer rights are strictly enforced.
  • Monitors the day-to-day finances of consumers and the group home.
  • Ability to understand financial reports for the group home and control overall budget within approved budget margins.
  • Maintains each home's petty cash, food stamps, etc.
  • Supervises purchases necessary for the home.
  • Completes and turns in all required financial reports.
  • Completes all monthly and quarterly reports regarding consumer treatment plans.
  • Keeps all consumer working files up-to-date and assists in maintaining consumer main files.
  • Supervises and monitors completion of menus as specified and in accordance with the CARF and Licensing standards.
  • Leads and participates in active treatment involving the consumers and participates as a team member for all consumers and makes community and family contacts as necessary or as assigned.
  • Assures all new employees are orientated and complete all documents within the AWARE, Inc. Orientation Packet upon hire, provides employee supervision, counseling, and directions, as needed, and completes the appropriate six-month and annual performance evaluations and reviews such with supervisor.
  • Utilizes HELP (including therapeutic holds) when it is necessary in addition to First Aid/CPR.
  • Provides training, in-service sessions, and other such instruction as approved and directed by supervisor, this includes disseminating and encouraging the A.W.A.R.E., Inc. Core Values, Unconditional Care Philosophy, and approved Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) approaches and techniques.
  • Maintains licensure and training certificates required by AWARE, Inc. and the State of Montana.
  • Ensures all group home employees are enrolled in Medication Certification class within one-month of hire.
  • Notifies the appropriate personnel in cases of emergency.
  • Coordinates all medical appointments and paperwork involved with other services.
  • Supervises all medications so that the appropriate amounts of medication are available at the group home and coordinates any medication changes with the appropriate AWARE, Inc. staff.
  • Comments on all Incident Reports from the group home and ensures that all other AWARE, Inc. policies and procedures are followed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Talents, skills, and abilities:

  • A BS/BA Degree is required in the Human Services Field or at least four (4) years of direct employment experience, in addition to holding a supervisory or leadership position for two (2) years.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a valid Montana Driver’s License.
  • Must have an acceptable driving record and pass a criminal background check.
