RESIDENT SUPPORT CASE MANAGER 

The mission of the Reno Housing Authority is to provide fair, sustainable, quality housing in diverse neighborhoods throughout Reno, Sparks and Washoe County that offers a stable foundation for families to pursue economic opportunities, become self-sufficient and improve their quality of life. Since 1943 the RHA has been the largest provider of affordable housing in Washoe County, proudly assisting more than 15,000 Nevadans to ensure they have a safe, secure place to call home. We are seeking candidates for the position of Resident Support Case Manager. The Resident Support Case Manager works directly with the Authority’s youth, work-able adults, seniors, and individuals with disabilities, connecting them to educational, employment, health/wellness, and supportive services aimed at promoting economic self-sufficiency, stability, and independent living.

Examples of some of the positions’ essential duties are:

  • Implement, coordinate, and evaluate Resident Services activities including workforce development, youth engagement, and supportive service programs.
  • Participate in conceptual and procedural program design, including development of curricula, workshops, and service delivery models.
  • Participate in department orientations and recruitment events to effectively engage and increase resident participation.
  • Implement specialized training and skills development programs, including pre-apprenticeships, employment readiness, financial education, and life-skills programming.
  • Develop outreach and marketing strategies to increase resident participation.
  • Monitor program outcomes and evaluate effectiveness using participant data and identified performance measures.
  • Assist with development of volunteer and community engagement initiatives.
  • Provide individualized assessment, case management, referral, and follow-up services for the Authority’s residents.
  • Assist residents in developing individualized development or service plans that align with employment, education, or independent living goals.
  • Conduct one-on-one and group instruction related to job readiness, resume preparation, interviewing skills, job retention, and life skills.
  • Connect senior residents and individuals with disabilities to supportive services that support aging in place and independent living.
  • Assist residents in building informal support networks with family, peers, and community resources.

We are located in the largest city in northern Nevada. Nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the surrounding area provides unlimited indoor and outdoor recreational activities. WHAT IS NEEDED?

The minimum qualifications for this position are: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, education, human services, or a related field and;
  • At least two (2) years’ of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, social services, resident services, youth programming, elderly services, or self-sufficiency program administration.
  • Previous experience working with low-income populations, youth, seniors, or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable. 
  • A valid Nevada Driver's License at time of appointment with an acceptable driving record throughout employment is required. 
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work as determined by Human Resources.
