The Reno Housing Authority is seeking candidates with experience administering social service programs for the position of Resident Services Administrator. The mission of the Resident Services Department is to provide RHA clients opportunities to increase independence and stability through participant-focused resources, self-sufficiency programs and service connections. The Resident Services Administrator is responsible for the planning, implementation, supervision, and optimization of programs offered by the Resident Services Department.
Examples of some of the essential duties are:
- Assist with the development, implementation and/or administration of the department’s services and programs ensuring proper alignment within the Pathways to Prosperity framework with a focus on workforce development and self-sufficiency.
- Participate in conceptual and procedural program design, including development of curricula, workshops, and service delivery models.
- Participates in managing the daily operations of the Resident Services department in adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Evaluate and recommend modifications to Resident Services program operations to increase program effectiveness and outcomes.
- Supervise, guide, motivate, and evaluate department staff. Identify and coordinate training opportunities as needed.
- Work with staff to address and correct any deficiencies noted during evaluation.
- Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of Resident Services programs, identifying areas where opportunities to modify programs exist to improve outcomes for residents and staff.
- Identify possible funding opportunities for department programs and activities. Provide oversight and administration of grant funding requirements related to the department’s programs and services.
- Establish and maintain relationships with agencies and service providers throughout the community.
- Prepares and presents reports, information and training to residents and community stakeholders as needed.

WHAT IS NEEDED?
The minimum qualifications needed for this position are:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work or a social service field, or a related field.
- A minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in workforce development, social services, resident services, youth programming, or self-sufficiency program administration.
- Two (2) years of experience in a supervisor or lead worker capacity.
- Experience with HUD programs, requirements, and policies/procedures and/or grants management is highly desirable.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work as determined by Human Resources.
