Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Research experience involving human participants (such as conducting interviews, administrating surveys, etc.). Experience in operating equipment, carrying out test procedures, and using special methods for data collation and interpretation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in social sciences field, such as psychology, public health, social work, etc. Six (6) or more months of research experience with human participation as part of a lab/research group OR a full-semester research methods course focused on research with human participants, Social, health, or community service experiences directly with adult or youth community members, including work or volunteerism.
Brief Description of Duties:
Contribute to research project coordination, materials preparation, quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, research dissemination (writing/presenting), and maintaining community partnerships in support of the Participatory Arts, Lived Experience, and Technology Towards Equity (PALETTE) Lab, directed by Dr. Frances Griffith, in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, exercising strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Essential for this role is the adeptness to work independently as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. Ideal candidates will have the ability to demonstrate professional competence in research activities.
Duties:
Coordinate/administrate research projects:
Prepare materials for research, such as measures for data collection, study protocols, applications to the Institutional Review Board, grant-related documents, recruit and coordinate research participants, etc.
Analyze data:
Perform data analysis, including interview and focus group transcription and coding, statistical analysis, etc.
Maintain community partnerships:
Liaise with community partners, form new relationships with community partners, convene and organize community advisory board meetings, attend relevant community health events, etc.
Collect Data:
Collect interview or survey data, record observations, screen articles for literature review projects, etc.
Share findings:
Support manuscript writing and revision, prepare and make presentations at conferences, write technical reports for community partners, etc.
Other duties or projects as assigned.
