Job Summary

The Coordinator of the Ready to Work (RTW) program will be responsible for providing services to support the education and training for Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) recipients who are engaged in an educational activity with KCTCS or Adult Education which will lead to employment and self-sufficiency. Services include recruitment, intake, assessment, educational advising, advocacy, mentoring, employment skills training, and work-study placements. The coordinator will work with KCTCS pre-college, current, and post-KCTCS RTW participants.

Job Duties:

  • Identify and recruit eligible participants for the Ready to Work program.

  • Provide intake and assessment services to develop an education and employability plan.

  • Provide case management services to identify individual needs, make referrals to appropriate resources and to support success and completion goals.

  • Facilitate and support the transition from Adult Education to postsecondary education for pre-college participants.

  • Deliver and/or facilitate life skills and career soft skills instruction through workshops and/or one on one counseling.

  • Develop work experience and work-study placements, both on and off campus. Submit all required employment documents.

  • Travel to service counties to meet with RTW participants, worksite supervisors, and other community partners. Participate in regular RTW system meetings and site visits.

  • Promote financial empowerment by providing workshops and one on one financial counseling. Assist with FAFSA completion and/or refer to the Financial Aid Office.

  • Promote marketing efforts and collaborate with DCBS staff and other community partners to support RTW program and activities.

  • Maintain program records, provide data, and submit semester and annual reports as requested.

  • Support accountability and institutional effectiveness by developing, implementing, and assessing effective procedures that support college operations and foster student success.

  • Serve on college committees as assigned and perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Services, Social Work, Counseling, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in Social Services, Case Management, or working with students.
  • Valid drivers license and willingness to commute in a variety of settings
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and four years of related experience.
