Position Summary: 

The Quality Improvement Specialist / Data Analyst is responsible for supporting the organization's Quality Improvement, Performance Management, Accreditation, and Compliance activities through data collection, analysis, reporting, and performance monitoring. This position serves as a key resource for gathering, validating, analyzing, and presenting organizational data to support continuous quality improvement, strategic planning, and informed decision-making. The Quality Improvement Specialist / Data Analyst works collaboratively with leadership and program departments to develop performance measures, monitor outcomes, maintain quality dashboards, track compliance indicators, and prepare reports for Executive Leadership, Quality Committees, and the Governing Body. The position plays an integral role in CARF accreditation readiness, quality improvement initiatives, and organizational performance management.


Description of Duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting: Collect, compile, validate, and analyze organizational performance and outcome data. Develop and maintain organizational dashboards, scorecards, and performance reports. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcome measures across programs and departments. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for leadership and quality committees. Assist in preparing reports for the Governing Body and Executive Leadership Team. Analyze trends and identify opportunities for quality improvement and operational effectiveness. Create visual reports, charts, graphs, and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data used for organizational reporting. Maintain databases and reporting systems used for quality and performance measurement. Assist departments in developing meaningful performance indicators and outcome measures.

Quality Improvement: Support implementation and monitoring of the Quality Improvement Program. Track quality improvement projects and performance improvement initiatives. Monitor progress toward organizational quality objectives and strategic goals. Assist with root cause analyses and corrective action planning. Compile and analyze customer satisfaction, stakeholder feedback, and outcome data. Monitor completion and effectiveness of corrective action plans. Assist departments in identifying, measuring, and improving service outcomes. Participate in quality committees and performance improvement workgroups.

Accreditation and Compliance Support: Assist with CARF accreditation readiness activities. Organize and maintain accreditation documentation and evidence files. Conduct file reviews and compliance monitoring activities. Assist with internal audits and quality reviews. Monitor compliance indicators and track corrective actions. Assist departments in preparing documentation related to accreditation and regulatory requirements. Participate in accreditation surveys, audits, and site visits as assigned. Support ongoing accreditation and quality improvement efforts throughout the organization.

Dashboard and Procedure Management: Develop and maintain automated reports and performance dashboards. Track organizational trends and benchmark data. Assist leadership in monitoring strategic objectives and performance goals. Analyze program effectiveness using outcome and performance data. Prepare statistical summaries and management reports. Provide recommendations based on data analysis and identified trends. Monitor monthly performance reporting requirements and deadlines.

Training and Technical Assistance: Provide guidance and technical assistance regarding data collection and reporting processes. Assist staff in understanding performance measures and reporting requirements. Conduct training on data collection tools, reporting systems, and dashboard utilization. Promote best practices in quality improvement and performance measurement.

Collaboration Support: Work collaboratively with program directors, managers, and department leaders. Participate in organizational planning and quality improvement activities. Support special projects related to quality management, accreditation, and strategic initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of organizational, employee, and client information. Perform other duties as assigned by the Quality Improvement Manager, CAO, or designee.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Human Services, Social Work, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in data analysis, quality improvement, performance measurement, healthcare administration, behavioral health, or a related field.
  • Experience preparing reports, dashboards, and performance metrics required.
  • Experience with accreditation or regulatory reporting preferred. 
  • Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, developmental disabilities, or human services preferred.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's degree in Data Analytics, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Business Intelligence, or a related field.
  • Experience with CARF accreditation standards and reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or other business intelligence tools.
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or related certification.
  • Experience within community behavioral health or human services organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint Online, Power Automate, Power BI, Teams, Forms, Planner, Excel, and related collaboration and reporting tools. Experience designing automated workflows, managing document repositories, developing quality dashboards, and utilizing data analytics to support quality improvement, compliance, accreditation, and operational excellence initiatives is highly desirable.
