Mooseheart Child City & School | Mooseheart, Illinois
Are you a human services professional who is passionate about helping young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities build skills, gain independence, and reach their full potential? Are you ready to take the next step in your career by leading a residential team and helping shape the quality of care young people receive every day?
Mooseheart Child City & School is seeking a dedicated Residential Program Supervisor to help lead our Horizons program, which serves youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
This is an opportunity to combine your experience in residential services, staff leadership, and person-centered care to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people. You'll help guide daily residential operations, support and develop staff, coordinate individualized services, and ensure each young person receives safe, consistent, and compassionate care.
An important benefit: This is a live-in position with housing provided on campus, making it an opportunity for a qualified professional who is interested in living and working within a close-knit residential community.
Why Join Mooseheart?
-
Meaningful work: Help young people with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop life skills, independence, confidence, and personal growth.
-
Leadership opportunity: Supervise, coach, and support residential staff while helping maintain a positive and effective team environment.
-
Housing provided: Live on campus as part of the residential program.
-
Collaborative care: Work alongside residential staff, clinical professionals, educators, and outside service providers.
-
Purpose-driven environment: Contribute to a program focused on individualized support, dignity, safety, and each young person's potential.
What You'll Do
As the Residential Program Supervisor, you'll help ensure that our Horizons homes operate safely, consistently, and in accordance with agency policies, Illinois DCFS regulations, and person-centered care practices.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
Lead and develop staff: Supervise Child Care Supervisors, provide coaching and guidance, conduct performance evaluations, and promote accountability and teamwork.
-
Oversee residential operations: Help ensure homes are appropriately staffed, daily routines run smoothly, and youth receive consistent, high-quality care.
-
Coordinate individualized services: Oversee case management activities and person-centered plans that support each young person's developmental, academic, social, and independence goals.
-
Collaborate across disciplines: Coordinate and participate in service planning meetings with residential staff, clinical professionals, educators, families or other appropriate supports, and outside providers as applicable.
-
Monitor progress and quality of care: Review interventions and services, assess their effectiveness, and recommend adjustments when needed.
-
Maintain accurate documentation: Ensure timely, complete records of youth progress, service coordination, staffing, and regulatory compliance.
-
Support safe and consistent care: Monitor staff practices, youth engagement, therapeutic approaches, medication-monitoring processes, and compliance with applicable standards.
-
Coordinate staffing and coverage: Maintain schedules and help ensure adequate, qualified staffing across assigned homes.
-
Provide operational support: Assist residential leadership and staff with appointment coordination, skills groups, supervision needs, and other essential program functions.
-
Participate in on-call coverage: Take part in a rotating on-call schedule and provide occasional evening or weekend support as needed.
