Summit County Public Health is looking for a Public Health Coordinator to work on a full-time basis (35 hours per week, Monday through Friday). This vital role coordinates countywide Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) initiatives and suicide prevention efforts by supporting coalitions and building partnerships across businesses and community organizations.

Primary Duties

  • Coordinate and carry out the Summit County Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) implementation plan, including priorities identified through the TIC Needs Assessment and the Trauma-Informed Care Coalition.
  • Serve as the primary point of coordination for countywide TIC efforts, including coalition support, workgroup follow-up, partner communication, and progress tracking.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with employers, chambers of commerce, community organizations, and cross-sector partners to expand trauma-informed care, mental health education, and recovery-friendly workplace efforts.
  • Attend and participate in the Suicide Prevention Coalition and support related suicide prevention efforts, including training, outreach, promotion of 988 and local crisis resources, and connection to care.
  • Support Suicide and Overdose Fatality Review Boards by attending meetings, assisting with data and case review, identifying prevention opportunities, and help move recommendations into action.
  • Demonstrates respect, cultural humility, and trauma-informed communication when engaging with individuals, organizations, and community partners from diverse backgrounds and lived experiences.

Compensation & Total Rewards

This is a full-time position with a standard 35-hour work week.

  • Compensation: $59,841.60 annually (equivalent to $32.88 per hour working 35 hours per week).
  • Retirement: Secure future planning through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS).

Qualifications

▪ Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.

▪ Masters' degree preferred.

▪ Must possess a minimum of 3 years related work experience.

▪ Valid Ohio driver's license, automobile availability and insurance coverage.

▪ Must maintain required licenses, credentials and/or certifications required for the position.

▪ Ability to obtain and maintain prevention certification, as required, through the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to support assigned prevention programs and services.
