Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital offers compassionate, high-quality inpatient and outpatient mental health and co-occurring treatment for teens, adults, and seniors. We provide a full-range of evidence-based medical and clinical services in a state-of-the-art healing environment. Programs include inpatient mental health and co-occurring treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Psychologist provides comprehensive psychological services to behavioral health patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and delivery of evidence‑based therapeutic interventions. The Psychologist works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary treatment team to support patient stabilization, symptom reduction, and recovery, while ensuring care is delivered in compliance with professional standards, hospital policies, and all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

•    To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.  

•    Conducts psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessments to support admission, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical decision-making.
•    Provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy using evidence‑based practices appropriate to the inpatient behavioral health setting.
•    Develops, implements, and documents individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
•    Participates actively in treatment team meetings, staffing discussions, and discharge planning to support continuity of care.
•    Provides consultation to psychiatrists, medical providers, nursing staff, and other clinicians regarding diagnosis, treatment strategies, and behavioral interventions.
•    Completes all clinical documentation accurately, legibly, and within required timeframes in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws, hospital policy, CMS, and regulatory standards.
•    Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with state licensure laws, ethical standards, hospital policies, HIPAA, and applicable federal and state regulations.
•    Maintains patient safety and confidentiality and adheres to seclusion and restraint standards, abuse/neglect reporting requirements, and risk management practices.
•    Participates in performance improvement activities, clinical outcome monitoring, and hospital or department committees as assigned.
•    Collaborates with leadership and clinical staff to support quality improvement initiatives, policy development, and best practices in inpatient care.
•    Maintains a professional appearance, demeanor, and conduct at all times and upholds patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and facility standards.

•    Other duties as assigned.

 

Salary: $56.38 – $69.62hr

 

Education/ Certification:

  Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or master’s degree in psychology from an accredited school required. 
•    Psychologist license required per state regulations. 
•    Five years of post-graduate experience preferred. 
•    Two years of experience treating inpatient behavioral health patients preferred.
