Position Summary

The Project Manager for the Refugee Health Promotion Program is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating community-based health initiatives designed to improve health outcomes among refugee communities. This role ensures program effectiveness by coordinating staff, managing partnerships, overseeing budgets, and aligning activities with public health best practices and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, execution, and ongoing management of refugee health promotion initiatives.
  • Develop program goals, work plans, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensure programming is culturally appropriate, trauma-informed, and linguistically accessible.
  • Coordinate outreach strategies to effectively engage diverse refugee communities.
  • Ensure program activities address key health priorities, including chronic disease prevention, maternal and child health, mental health, and access to care.
  • Promote health equity and reduce barriers to healthcare access.
  • Support and oversee culturally tailored health education campaigns and community events.
  • Supervise program staff, including health educators, outreach workers, and community health workers.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations to support staff development.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and mission-driven team environment.

Stakeholder Coordination & Partnerships

  • Build and maintain relationships with faith institutions, community-based organizations, healthcare providers, resettlement agencies, and local government partners.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure integrated service delivery.
  • Represent the organization in community meetings, coalitions, and stakeholder engagements.

Community Engagement & Health Promotion

  • Design and implement strategies to promote community participation and engagement in health programs.
  • Deliver and support culturally tailored health education initiatives and outreach efforts.
  • Promote awareness of available services and encourage preventive health behaviors within refugee communities.

Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Implement a comprehensive evaluation framework to assess program effectiveness.
  • Measure health outcomes, behavioral changes, and educational impact.
  • Utilize both quantitative and qualitative data for program evaluation.
  • Continuously improve program design and delivery based on evaluation findings.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in program management, preferably in public health or community-based programs.
  • Experience working with refugee, immigrant, or underserved populations strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of public health principles and health promotion strategies.
  • Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with data analysis, reporting tools, and program evaluation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Multilingual skills relevant to refugee populations served.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and cross-cultural health education, including behavioral health integration.
  • Familiarity with refugee resettlement systems and social determinants of health.

Compensation

Salary range: $65,000 – $70,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
