JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, the Program Services Director is responsible for the overall success and administration of all programs within the Program Services Department, including the Senior Choice Program, Adult Protective Services Program, Care Coordination Unit, and Senior Mental Health Program. This position serves as the primary resource and support officer for the above departments in Rockford, Rock Falls, and Lake County.

This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Key duties include interviewing, managing, and training staff; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; networking and marketing the program; ensuring quality assurance and compliance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing and resolving complaints or problems. Additional responsibilities include ongoing program monitoring and other duties essential to program operations. All hiring and terminations must be approved by the Chief Human Resource Officer.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

The employee must meet the following requirements:

  • Advanced degree preferred; bachelor's degree required in health, social services, social work, healthcare administration, or public administration.
  • Minimum three years of experience in health or human services. Experience in Aging and/or Domestic Violence services preferred.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and function autonomously within established guidelines.
  • Demonstrated strong decision-making abilities, attention to detail and effective communication skills, dependability, and openness to new ideas.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory role.
  • Valid IL driver's license, clean driving record, and own transportation with current insurance coverage.
  • Must have a clean background history according to State of Illinois requirements; drug test and fingerprinting are required, and results must be favorable in accordance with company policy.
