Huntington University invites applications for the position of Program Director of Social Work.

The Program Director of Social is a full-time faculty position that provides academic, administrative, and programmatic leadership for the Social Work program within the Division of Social Sciences & Education. The Program Director will oversee curriculum development and assessment, teach courses, maintain accreditation standards, advise students, and foster partnerships with community agencies and field placement sites. The successful candidate will bring professional expertise, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to integrating Christian faith with social work values and practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program with a plan for earning a doctorate.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of post-MSW professional social work experience.
  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW or LCSW) in Indiana, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.
  • Knowledge of CSWE EPAS accreditation standards and processes.
  • Must have a strong personal Christian commitment and faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to serve others
  • Active Christian faith and a commitment to integrating faith and professional practice.
  • Ability to affirm and uphold Huntington University's Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
  • Must be committed to the mission of Huntington University as a comprehensive Christian College dedicated to educating men and women to impact our world for Christ

  • Doctoral degree (DSW, Ph.D., or related field) or progress toward terminal degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in program administration, curriculum development, or academic leadership is preferred
  • Experience with field education coordination and supervision is preferred
  • Record of scholarship, research, or publication in social work or a related discipline is preferred
  • Familiarity with accreditation review processes is preferred

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Leadership & Administration

  • Provide visionary leadership for the Social Work program consistent with the University's mission and the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards (EPAS).
  • Coordinate program review, assessment, and continuous improvement processes to maintain or pursue CSWE accreditation.
  • Develop and maintain the Social Work program's policies, procedures, and curriculum map in collaboration with faculty and the Division Chair.
  • Manage program budgets, schedule course offerings, and make recommendations regarding program staffing.

Teaching & Curriculum Development

  • Teach a full-time equivalent course load in social work (typically 12 credit hours per academic year, with adjustments for administrative responsibilities).
  • Teach hybrid courses in a seven-week format in coordination with online faculty.
  • Design and deliver courses that integrate Christian worldview perspectives with professional social work competencies.
  • Mentor and advise social work majors through their academic and professional development.

Community & Professional Engagement

  • Cultivate relationships with social service agencies, nonprofits, and community partners to support field placements and program relevance.
  • Represent the Social Work program at professional conferences and maintain an active presence in state and national social work organizations.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and professional practice consistent with the University's expectations for faculty.
  • Participate in University-wide committees, chapel, and community life.
