Job Details: Job Location: ALM-Huntsville Al Corps - Huntsville, AL, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Job Category: Social Services, This postion is responsible for:
Plans, directs, coordinates, and monitors the day-to-day operations of a Corps Social Service Program such as Transitional Living, Homeless Services, Emergency Services, Corps Salvage ad Rehabilitation Center; develops, implements, and evaluates program operations and services; supervises all program staff and ensures work is in compliance with established policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal regulations; researches and prepares grant proposals and secures program funding; prepares and monitors program expenditures in compliance with program budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervises and monitors the day-to-day activities of the program including shelter housing, meal preparation, life skill classes, drug and alcohol rehabilitation recovery classes, financial assistance; ensures that operations run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.
Supervises program staff responsible for providing social services and program services; instructs and trains employees in the proper methods and procedures for conducting work; monitors work in process and upon completion for compliance with established program policies and procedures; conducts performance evaluations
Supervises and monitors the daily activities of the kitchen staff including inventory control, menu preparation and approval, and food bank purchases; monitors all food orders to ensure proper rotation and usage of current inventory and budget limits
Maintains awareness of local, state and federal regulations governing program operations and ensures compliance to the same including health, safety, and licensing regulations
Coordinates and monitors the maintenance of program facilities; ensures that all buildings are properly cleaned, maintained, and secured; coordinates needed repairs in a timely manner
Researches and prepares grant proposals and cultivates funding sources; monitors program funds and expenditures ensuring compliance with program budget
Builds and maintains effective working relationships with community agencies in order to maintain awareness of resources and make appropriate referrals
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements
Ability to read, write and communicate the English language
Ability to perform public speaking
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time
Work requires performance of duties in social services environment where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, Masters preferred
and
four years progressively responsible experience administering and developing social service programs,
or
any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
