Creating change where it matters the most. The Program Director will lead and coordinate a data-informed substance use prevention initiative across the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) by strengthening community partnerships, expanding evidence-based prevention services, building workforce capacity, increasing community awareness, and using continuous quality improvement to achieve sustainable outcomes for youth, young adults, and underserved rural communities.

Job Description

  • Direct and monitor program implementation and service delivery, ensuring activities align with program goals, community needs, strategic priorities, and requirements.
  • Apply the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF), community needs assessments, and program data to identify priorities and guide prevention strategies, while coordinating with other community coalitions to strengthen collective capacity, leverage resources, and expand effective behavioral health services. 
  • Monitor program effectiveness, outcomes, participation, and quality indicators while managing program budgets, expenditures, and resources to support efficient and sustainable service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with behavioral health and community leaders, including MOUs, referral pathways, communication protocols, and coordinated strategies to address identified community needs.
  • Monitor the successful implementation of prevention messages and media campaigns to increase awareness of prevention services and resources.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to coalition staff, ensuring accurate data collection, performance tracking, reporting, compliance, strategic planning, budget accountability, and sustainability of effective programs and partnerships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in social services, networking in the community or at risk population is preferred.
  • Experience with community needs assessments and data collection/analysis. 
  • Must have reliable transportation and current insurance; travel is required within the service area.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Pay: $36,000 annually
